During their adventure on the water, the moderators command three very different types of ships: Clarkson's vehicle is a replica of a Vietnam War-era PWR (Patrol Boat River) – the famous military ship seen in Apocalypse Now; Hammond gives room to his inner Don Johnson by opting for a Miami Vice-style speedboat, and May lives his dream of a vacation on the canal with a classic 1939 wooden cruiser.

The Grand Tour presents: Seamen is the first of the new adventure road trip specials. The filming of the next issue, which will start exclusively with Prime Video next year along with other specials, has just ended in Madagascar. In addition to The Grand Tour, the presenters also filmed their individual Amazon Original series: James May: Our Man in … Japan, Jeremy Clarkson's I Brought The Farm (working title) and Richard Hammond's pop science series with Tory Belleci. All three series will start on Prime Video in the coming years. The previous seasons of the Amazon Original series The Grand Tour are already available worldwide exclusively for Prime members.
