Black Widow is one of the most highly anticipated Marvel projects next year. In it we go on a journey into the dark past of the ex-spy. At the same time, fans speculate who could succeed the Avenger. Florence Pugh, a colleague of Scarlett Johansson, had a lot to say about this: the upcoming Marvel blockbuster Black Widow will give the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe the green light. In it we travel back in time and jump back in time after the action of Captain America: Civil War. Fans can look deeper into Black Widows (Scarlett Johansson) prehistory. In doing so, we also get to know many new characters that first appear in the Marvel universe. Agent Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) will also be there.
Exactly this character should play a very special role in the upcoming film. Because already in the comics she came into action as Black Widow. After the tragic fate of Natasha Romanoff in Avengers: Endgame, the question arises whether the young actress will take the wheel in other films.
In an interview with Uproxx, Florence Pugh now made it clear that nothing will come of it: "No, I actually can say that when we did it was not at all. And I honestly say it certainly didn't feel like it kind of a torch handover movie when we were making it. And I think the direction, the feeling and the mood behind it was really just an attempt to make this complicated and painful story. "
These statements also coincide with previous statements by the actress. She was asked to IGN if Marvel Studios could plan to make her character the next Black Widow. Pugh said no, because for her the film "is not necessarily about taking over the baton (…)." Rather, the star is about how Natasha and Yelena "get themselves in order."
What would you think of Florence Pugh as the successor to the Marvel universe? Black Widow will be released in German cinemas on April 30, 2020. You can now find the trailer for this in our video player below.
