In Schwalmtal on the Lower Rhine, a 21-year-old man is said to have sexually abused a girl in a caravan. The suspect was caught in the morning and temporarily arrested, the police and the public prosecutor's office in Mönchengladbach said.
The girl had spent the night with three other children between the ages of five and eleven in a caravan in front of the parents' house of one of the children. The suspect is said to have gained access to the unlocked caravan at around 3 a.m. Afterwards, according to the police, "there was sexual abuse of a nine-year-old girl."
The girl was able to flee to her parents' house in the early morning, the report said. The hurrying father saw the suspect flee and recognized and persecuted him near the crime scene on Sunday morning.
The police then arrested the 21-year-old. Initially, the investigators did not provide any details and referred to the ongoing investigations.
