According to the authorities, there have recently been just under 140 cases of coronavirus in Canada – now a prominent one has been added. The wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has been infected with the new virus. Sophie Grégoire Trudeau's test was positive, the prime minister's office said on Thursday (local time). But she is fine.
The Prime Minister is "in good health" and shows no symptoms. A test with him is not planned. As a precaution, however, he would observe a 14-day quarantine, a few hours earlier, Trudeau's office had announced that the head of government and his wife had quarantined. The First Lady reportedly returned from a lecture tour in London with "mild flu-like symptoms".
