Riverdale: There are at least as many seasons in the series

Riverdale has become a real phenomenon on Netflix. Fans around the world eagerly follow the story based on the popular Archie comics. In four spectacular seasons, the streaming giant took the audience on an exciting journey and caused some shocking moments. A fifth season has already been confirmed and raises the question: How many more seasons will Riverdale release?
There is good news for Riverdale viewers. It seems like the adventures of Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge and Jughead Jones may be over for a while. For some time there has been fear that the cult show will get its last season. After all, the main characters are approaching the end of high school. Although we don't know much about season five yet, actor KJ Apa may have revealed that we can look forward to plenty of supplies.
In an interview with The Los Angeles Times, Apa reports that he and the other leading actors will be contracted to Riverdale for the next three years. The appearance of Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes would also be a matter of decision. Riverdale would therefore continue to run until 2023, as long as the show continues to receive approval from viewers. Each season could start around the same time each year. The lead actor's contract would confirm that season 6 and 7 are already planned.
So while viewers have a reason to be happy, the question arises in which direction the dark teen series will go in the future. We will probably be accompanying Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead in their further careers. Betty and Jughead have already been accepted by Yale University. Veronica has been accepted by Barnard College in New York and Archie is likely to have to plan another stay in Riverdale.
There is a theory how the series could still keep friends together. A big leap in time between seasons 4 and 5 could span the college years, so all the main characters in the new episodes will return to Riverdale as adults. Of course, something big could happen before graduation, so Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead have to stay in Riverdale. So it is still not entirely clear what the future holds for Riverdale. It seems that Riverdale will at least have a future and possibly a very long one.
