After The Office and Parks and Recreation, Prime members can soon look forward to the latest series project by award-winning author Greg Daniels: The sci-fi comedy series UPLOAD starts exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on May 1st. All ten episodes of the Amazon Original series are available for streaming in the English original version and the German dubbed version. We will show you the first pictures from the series in our picture gallery under this text.
The new sci-fi comedy series is set in a technologically progressive future in which hologram phones, 3D food printers and automated supermarkets are part of everyday life. Most unusual, however, is that people can choose to be “uploaded” to a virtual afterlife when they are close to death.
UPLOAD revolves around a young app developer, Nathan Brown (Robbie Amell), who ends up in a hospital after an accident with a self-driving car and has to quickly decide his fate. After rushing to talk to his superficial girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards), he decides to be uploaded to the luxurious virtual hereafter, the "Lakeview" of the company Horizen. After uploading to Lakeview, Nathan meets his customer service “angel” Nora Anthony (Andy Allo). At first, Nora is just his charismatic concierge and guide. But soon she becomes a friend and confidante who helps him find his way in this new digital extension of life.
In addition to Robbie Amell, Allegra Edwards and Andy Allo, Kevin Bigley and Zainab Johnson also belong to the cast of the Amazon Original series. Series creator Greg Daniels also works with Howard Klein as executive producer of UPLOAD.
