The boathouse in Cologne, one of the hippest clubs in the world, has taken the Corona crisis as an opportunity to launch its own online platform on which fans can find content such as exclusive live sets, DJ sessions, never-before-seen sets from the boathouse, mix tapes and others can look at. "Our goal is to make Bootshaus Live the Netflix of electronic music," says owner Fabian Thylmann. "Many clubs and DJs try to encourage their fans to donate with free livestreams via the popular social media platforms, but we decided on a long-term solution that will have a clear reason to exist even after the crisis."
Fabian Thylmann became known through various porn platforms, which he operated until 2013 and then sold. Among them were the world-famous streaming services Pornhub and Youporn. With Bootshaus Live he now builds on this know-how and brings DJ sets directly into the fans' rooms. In contrast to many other streaming formats, Bootshaus Live will not be available for free, but for EUR 4.99 per month. Bootshaus Live is currently available at www.bootshaus.live, iOS and Android apps will follow shortly.
Most recently, the boathouse was voted the sixth best club in the world – more than 500,000 ravers worldwide voted for their favorite club and thus voted their top 100 clubs in a public vote.
